Pre-1995 ~ A Bunch of Years I wrote my first program when I was 9 years old (that's 1981 if you're keeping track). It determined a random number between 1-100 and you'd have to guess what it was. Pretty simple program but I was hooked. I wrote that program on a Commodore VIC-20 that my parents bought for me. When I was 12, I was the teaching assistant in my 7th grade computer class, often taking over the lecture to explain the ins and outs of loop design. At age 14, I built my first PC-based computer after spending the summer working construction to save up for it. The machine I built was an IBM XT Compatible built from parts I bought out of a computer catalog. Most of high school was spent tinkering with PCs, writing programs, and fixing computers for everyone I knew. One thing that's never changed - Computer geeks are always in high demand.
