2003 ~ Year of the Sheep In the beginning of 2003 my 1st marriage was falling apart and I was ready to get out of Dodge (well Detroit). At about the same time, I found a job posting for a small photo studio in Europe looking for a webmaster. I wrote them and the response was, "you are way overqualified, when can you start?" Within weeks I had my bags packed and was on a flight to their studio in Portugal. Petter Hegre made a name for himself in commercial photography but his true passion was fine art nudes. In 2002, Petter began posting his photo sets online for a nominal viewing fee. That first year his site earned around $20k. Hegre knew his site had a wider audience but didn't know how to find it. So, he hired me to help him grow the website. I spent several 'round-the-clock months developing a complex back-office solution that managed the content and tracked our traffic.
