2002 ~ Year of the Horse Like a thoroughbred, my career hit a gallop during 2002. I was recruited by Brio Advertising to manage their IT infrastructure and oversee all web projects. You can read about this on my Project Management page and in my library . It was my first real insight into the workings of the advertising world. In advertising, as with any volatile consumer market, NEW is the only thing that sells. Designers can spend hundreds of hours preparing a campaign that does a brilliant job selling a product, but if the next campaign fails, oftentimes the agency will be fired. Every idea has to be new, so in advertising, the execs are always pushing for the newest ideas. This is great for designers and web developers who want to learn the latest skills. At Brio, most of my slow periods were spent researching new trends in online marketing and learning new web technologies.
