1995-1999 ~ College Years My first week in college I went looking for a campus job to keep me busy. I decided to try the computer services department, even though I thought the job would be way over my head. After about ten minutes of conversation with the director, I was hired on the spot. I spent the next four years running all over campus fixing outdated computers for professors that were frantically nervous about losing their life's work. It was a lot of fun. In my Junior and Senior years I was promoted to computer lab supervisor, where I supervised the lab assistants and repaired the 300 on-campus lab machines. My Senior year I realized I needed a specialization in computers or I would end up spending my career fixing computers. I read a US News article about the hottest jobs in the country and Web Designer was #1. So I talked the school's Web Department into letting me work on some sites. Their team was overworked and more than happy to let me help. Thus my career as a web designer was born.
